Ways of Arriving to Inertial Sensors 2018
Lake Como is readily accessible to visitors from all over the world.
Air Travel
Most overseas visitors flying into Italy with an agenda to visit Lake Como will choose to land at Milan's Malpensa airport. This airport is roughly 25 miles south of Como town. Many major airlines fly into Malpensa airport, Terminal 1, including Continental, Delta, USAir, British Airways, KLM, Scandinavian and many more.
After arriving at the airport, the options for getting to the Lake District are by train (see aside), by Taxi or rental car. A drive from Malpensa to the conference venue is about 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic. A map with the suggested drive can be found by clicking the 'view map' button below.
For direct shuttle rides from the airport to the hotel, please contact [email protected] for booking information.
Ground Transportation
There is a train service from the airport to Como. Get off at Saronno station, and connect to a train coming from Milan Cadorna and heading to Como. The end of the line in Como is at Como Lago station which is right on the lake front. Buses to Bellagio, Menaggio and other villages on the lake, stop outside the station (see 'Bus Route Map" link below), and also the ferry pier is a short walk from there. The bus C-10 heads to Menaggio and stops after 14 minutes in Moltrasio, the conference venue (tell the driver in advance about your stop).Alternatively, a taxi ride from Como Lago station to Moltrasio is about 10 minutes.
Como can also be reached by train using the Trenitalia service from Milan's Central and Garibaldi stations. These trains arrive at Como San Giovanni station. Buses leave from there too, and the lake front is a 20 minute walk (or short taxi or bus ride) from there. The Trenord service from Milano leaves from Cadorna Station and arrives at Como Nord Lago (see map below).
