Arriving to & from the Indira Gandhi International Airport

Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport is the unique airport that serves the City of New Delhi. There are two main terminals in Delhi Airport: T1 (C and D) that operates domestic flights from Low Cost carriers, and T3, the main terminal, operating Domestic Flights and all International Flights. Both terminals are connected by a shuttle bus.

Metro

Delhi Metro is the fastest way to go to New Delhi. The superfast airport Metro Express connects Terminal 3 with the central part of New Delhi.

The fare for a single journey ticket is 60 RS from DEL airport to New Delhi.

First train departs at 4:45AM from New Delhi and Airport, and last train departs at 11:15PM from both sides. Travel time is 15 minutes approximately.

Bus

The bus service is the most common and the cheapest way to travel around the city.

DTC offers a shuttle-bus service every 30 minutes that connects the airport with central parts of New Delhi.

All buses operating at Terminal 3, can be found at the 'staging area' opposite the Centaur Hotel. Use the Dial inter-terminal shuttle bus to reach Terminal 3. 

Be aware that the buses can be really crowded and could be difficult to use them if it is your first time on the city.

Taxi

In order to make this service better and avoid scams, the airport has a relationship with three Cab operators:

  • Meru Cabs: located at Terminal 3 International arrivals
  • Mega Cabs: located at Terminal 3 International arrivals
  • Easy cabs: located at Terminal 1C Domestic Arrival Terminal

To find out the taxis, just step out the terminal at arrivals.

Taxi fares to New Delhi vary depending on the kilometres to your destination. The fare is 20-25 INR per kilometre.
