BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Liang Dong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, a Faculty Scholar of the Plant Sciences Institute, and an Associate Director of the Microelectronics Research Center, at Iowa a State University. He is also an Associate of the US DOE’s Ames Lab. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2004. Before joining the faculty of ISU in 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Dong’s research is focused on developing MEMS, sensors, microfluidic devices, and optical devices for agriculture, biomedicine, and biorenewable energy. He received the NSF CAREER Award, Early Career Engineering Faculty Research Award, Harpole-Pentair Developing Faculty Award, and Warren B. Boast Undergraduate Teaching Award at Iowa State.
