Biography
Iulian I. Iordachita (IEEE M’08, S’14) is a research faculty within the Mechanical Engineering Department, Whiting School of Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, faculty member of the Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics (LCSR), and the director of the Advanced Medical Instrumentation and Robotics Research Laboratory (AMIRo). He received the B.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering, the M.Eng. degree in industrial robotics, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering in 1984, 1989, and 1996, respectively, all from the University of Craiova, Romania. His current research interests include medical robotics, image guided surgery, robotics, smart surgical tools, and medical instrumentation.
