Educated at Imperial College London and UCW Aberystwyth, Ian holds a BSc and MSc in Physics. He also has an MBA from the Open University Business School.
Ian has held various CTO and CEO-level roles and has worked in industrial R&D, engineering, operations and business development, including with GEC-Marconi, Pulse Engineering Inc. and QinetiQ. He is currently CEO of CENSIS, the Innovation Centre for Sensor & Imaging Systems. CENSIS’s mission is to foster innovation and promote hi-tech economic growth in Scotland through maturing and transferring of innovative sensor and imaging technologies from the academic to the industrial base.
Ian is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Physicist and has been elected Fellow of the Institute of Physics, the Royal Astronomical Society, and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
